Since I had time off, my parents decided to come up and visit us in Virginia. This was the first time they had made the trip since our original house-hunting expedition, so we were excited for them to come see our place. We planned a trip to Washington D. C. during their visit, and it was a lot of fun! Over the course of 3 days, we saw all of the monuments on the mall, the National Archives (where they have the Declaration of Independence, Constitution, etc.), the Holocaust Museum, Museum of Natural History, American History Museum, and the Air and Space Museum. Obviously, it was a full trip. We were there at the very end of the Cherry Blossom Festival, so it was really crowded the first day. But we got to see the beautiful flowers and only had one day of rain. Dan's sister, Emily, got us a great hotel in Georgetown, and all in all it was a fabulous trip! Here are a few pictures of the trip:

Once we got back and my parents left, I still had several days of spring break left. I got the incredible chance to fly in a tanker and watch Dan do air-to-air refueling. It was awesome to be up in the plane and get to see Dan so close by! I got to talk to him on the radio, and just get a little glimpse into what he does. It was definitely a cool experience.
At the end of the week, we celebrated our 3 year wedding anniversary. It is hard to believe we're at 3 years already. In some ways, it seems like time has flown by. In other ways, we've done so many things between then and now that I feel sure it must have been longer! Either way, we were excited to celebrate and thankful for all of our time together...its been an amazing three years!
Here we are 3 years ago at our wedding:

And now celebrating 3 great years of being married!

Ah - you lucky girl, flying in another VERY cool plane - the tanker, of course!!! I'm convinced that Tim and Dan will meet up one of these days. That's great that you got to see him refuel...and talk to him.
Congrats on 3 years! You two look great - as always!
I totally thought of Tim when I was going into the tanker! It was really fun and I do hope that the guys meet up someday :)
